I was born and raised in Austria raising my two children and working my dream job as a licensed therapist, consulting people and guiding them through physical and psychological problems. After our divorce, my ex-husband moved to the States and I felt that our children needed to have their father in their life.
Five years ago we packed up and moved close to where my ex- husband resides. I knew I would not be licensed in the States to practice therapy so I became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
I am currently working as a ski patroller in a large ski area with a variety of responsibilities. I love my job, but unfortunately the seasonal salary doesn’t cover the cost of living. I started searching for an opportunity to supplement my income in order to survive.
With family commitments and other obligations, time became a precious commodity. I felt it was crucial that my children and grandchild did not lose contact with our family and friends in Austria. However, paying for airline tickets was nearly impossible.
